Hopper Information Services Center
The Hopper Information Services Center provides mission-related information technology and services to the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) and its subordinate Commands and the fleet. The Hopper Center enables the rapid and reliable delivery of intelligence to customers worldwide via an architecture that employs new technology and applications capable of moving intelligence in an open, mission-enabling and information-sharing environment. It is one of four Centers of Excellence that are distinct Commands subordinate to ONI.
The Hopper Center delivers responsive, reliable, and adaptable intelligence mission systems, applications, and services in support of sustained global maritime and joint intelligence operations.
To field an array of world-class intelligence information technologies – integrated, interoperable and secure – that deliver decision superiority for policymakers and commanders throughout all dimensions of maritime and joint warfare.
Functions, Roles & Responsibilities
The HOPPER Center provides critical information services that support global maritime and intelligence operations. Its major functions include: providing superior IT systems and software development and integration for command priorities in support of Naval and national intelligence requirements; multiple development, integration, testing , certification, fielding, training, and sustainment activities aimed primarily at delivering DoD Intelligence Information System (DoDIS) Intelligence Mission Application products, services, and infrastructure to the global customer base.
The most significant efforts of the Joint Deployable Intelligence Support System (JDISS) Joint Program Office (JPO) are oriented to the Collection Management Mission Applications (CMMA) and Global Command and Control Integrated Imagery and Intelligence (GCCS-I3) projects.
The Hopper Center is also responsible for implementing, operating, maintaining and managing the ONI Integrated Maritime Architecture (IMA) enterprise, including a 24/7 Enterprise Operations ADP Center for IT service infrastructure and a 24/7 Global Help Desk for IT service responsiveness, and sustaining and maintaining Naval SCI communications ashore, including the following services:
- Tactical SCI messaging support (Fleet and submarine forces)
- SCI Network access and organizational messaging services to Naval Intelligence
