Commander Caroline Rochfort, USN

 

 

 

 

 

 

Commanding Officer

Hopper Information Services Center

 

Commander Caroline Rochfort assumed command of the Hopper Information Services Center in April 2021. Prior to this assignment, she served as director of Spectrum Division within the Nimitz Operational Intelligence Center. She also spent three months as ONI’s pandemic response coordinator beginning in December 2020.

 

CDR Rochfort entered the Navy in 2001 as an intelligence officer through the Naval Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Fla. She graduated with honors in 2006 from the Naval Postgraduate School receiving her executive master’s degree in business.

 

CDR Rochfort’s sea duty and operational assignments include squadron intelligence officer for Carrier Air Wing Eleven from December 2001 to October 2003, deploying on USS Carl Vinson and USS Nimitz to the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. She also served in Bahrain at Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command/U.S. Fifth Fleet from 2007 to 2008, working as the intelligence watch officer assigned to the combined intelligence-operations Maritime Operations Command watch floor.  As the Destroyer Squadron Seven intelligence officer to Carrier Strike Group Eleven aboard USS Ronald Reagan from June 2008 to July 2010, CDR Rochfort conducted two deployments to the Pacific Ocean and Persian Gulf, executing combat operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as well as maritime security operations in support of Combined Task Force-Iraqi Maritime aboard the Al Basra Oil Terminal. In her last sea duty assignment, she served as commander Carrier Strike Group Fifteen deputy assistant chief of staff for intelligence, responsible for the training and certification of Pacific Fleet-based afloat intelligence teams and staffs from December 2015 to February 2018.

 

CDR Rochfort’s shore assignments include duty as the staff intelligence officer at the Sea Control Wing in Coronado, Calif., from 2003 to 2004. She also served at Commander Pacific Fleet Intelligence Readiness Cell in San Diego, Calif., from 2004 to 2007 as the training and systems readiness officer for deploying carrier strike groups and amphibious ready groups. As the intelligence officer assigned to the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Department at the Naval Space and Warfare Systems Command Pacific from 2010 to 2012, she earned her Level II certification in defense acquisitions program management.  From 2012 to 2015, she served as the director of training at the Center for Information Dominance Unit San Diego. Before coming to ONI, CDR Rochfort served as the chief of collections for commander U.S. Naval Forces Central Command/U.S. Fifth Fleet.
