Farragut Technical Analysis Center
Captain Andrew T. Michalowicz assumed command of the Farragut Technical Analysis Center in May 2026. Prior to this assignment, he served as the Executive Officer for the Brooks Center for Maritime Engagement.
A native of Pasadena, Maryland, Michalowicz is a 2004 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Economics. He also earned a Master of Science in Cyber Systems and Operations from the Naval Postgraduate School. He served as a surface warfare officer for three years before laterally transferring to the intelligence community in 2007.
Michalowicz’s operational and sea tours include serving as the anti-submarine warfare officer aboard USS Jarrett (FFG 33) in San Diego; tactical intelligence support officer in charge at the Kennedy Irregular Warfare Center providing support to Naval Special Warfare from Washington, D.C.; and assistant chief of staff for Intelligence, N2 Expeditionary Strike Group TWO in Little Creek, VA.
His shore and staff assignments include personnel analyst for Naval Surface Forces Pacific; collection/functional manager for the Office of Naval Intelligence; duty director of intelligence for the operational intelligence watch and the executive assistant for the Intelligence Directorate at North American Aerospace Defense Command and United States Northern Command; executive officer of Information Warfare Training Command Monterey; and requirements officer for Naval Operations for Information Warfare, OPNAV N2N6.
A qualified information warfare officer and surface warfare officer, Michalowicz’ personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards) and various campaign, unit and service awards.
