ONI’s Public Affairs Officer (PAO) is the point of contact for media inquiries concerning ONI sailors and/or products. Inquiries about global Navy operations or sailors, including ship movements, exercises, or deployments, should be directed to the Navy Office of Information (CHINFO) News Desk. 

Email queries are preferred and will be handled as quickly as possible during normal business hours.

Employment or Salary Verifications

ONI does not manage employment or salary verifications. All employment or salary verifications must be initiated by the employee through the Civilian Employment Verification tool in MyBiz+. Lenders, social service agency representatives, landlords, and others must work through the employee to obtain employment and/or salary verification information. Employment verification requests sent to the ONI PAO mailbox will not be addressed. 

Official Personnel Files

Separated civilian employees (non-retirees) should request their official personnel files from the National Personnel Records Center. Requests can be made 120 days after separation date, either in person or electronically.
