Master Chief (IW/SW/AW/EXW/SS) Jason Reynolds reported to the Office of Naval Intelligence as command master chief in June 2023. Prior to his current assignment, he served as the command senior enlisted leader (CSEL) at Naval Medical Forces Support Command in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
A native of San Antonio, Texas, Reynolds enlisted in the Navy in 1997 and attended basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois. He attended and graduated from the Nuclear Machinist Mate “A” school in Orlando, Florida, before completing his training at the Nuclear Power Training Unit in Ballston Spa, New York.
In 1999, Reynolds reported to the submarine USS Kentucky (SSBN 737), where he completed multiple patrols before being transferred to the Trident Refit Facility in 2001. In 2004, Reynolds reported to Information System Technician (IT) “A” school. He then reported to the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63), where he completed several deployments throughout the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) and supported Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2007, he advanced to chief petty officer and reported to Navy Personnel Command in Millington, Tennessee, as the IT E-5 and below detailer. During this tour, he completed an individual augmentee assignment with an embedded training team in Afghanistan.
Reynolds reported to the Naval Special Warfare Group (NSWG) 1 mobile communications team in 2010. There, he served his first CSEL role. Reynolds served additional CSEL roles at Helicopter Sea Combat (HSC) 15, HSC 3, USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), and in a joint environment at Naval Medical Forces Support Command. Reynolds is currently serving as the senior enlisted leader at the Office of Naval Intelligence.
Reynolds’ professional accomplishments include graduating from the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course, National Defense University KEYSTONE Joint Leadership Course and completing the New Flag and Senior Executive Training Symposium (NFLEX). He earned his bachelor’s degree in management of information systems technologies, graduating summa cum laude. His personal awards and decorations are consistent with other senior enlisted members of the U.S. military.
