Senior Enlisted Leader, Senior Chief Musician (IW) Luis O. Lebrón

Senior Chief Musician Luis O. Lebrón, a native of Humacao, Puerto Rico, enlisted in the United States Navy in August of 1996 and attended Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Illinois. Upon graduation of Recruit Training, he attended Musician “A” School in Norfolk, Virginia and later reported to Navy Band Great Lakes in Great Lakes, Illinois where he served as Clarinet/Saxophone Instrumentalist.

In January of 2000, Senior Chief Lebrón reported to U.S. Fleet Forces Band in Norfolk, Virginia and served as a saxophone instrumentalist and Spanish translator for the U.S. Navy Showband (”La Banda UNITAS”), where he toured extensively throughout the Caribbean and South America on numerous platforms, including the USS KLAKRING (FFG-42), USS O’Bannon (DD-987), and the USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN-76). In January of 2005, he reported to Navy Band Southeast in Jacksonville, Florida and served as the unit leader of numerous small ensembles and as the band’s Leading Petty Officer.

His next tour duty took him to the Senior Musician Course at the Naval School of Music in Norfolk, Virginia. Upon graduation, he reported to the U.S. Naval Forces Europe Band in Naples, Italy serving as the band’s Leading Petty Officer before being promoted to Chief Petty Officer. His duties included Operations Coordinator, Administrative Department Head, and Chief Petty Officer in charge of numerous ensembles touring throughout Europe and Africa.

In June of 2014, he reported to Fleet Band Activities in Millington, Tennessee for duty as the Materiel Manager where he was soon promoted to his present rank. Senior Chief Lebrón is currently stationed in Yokosuka, Japan and is serving as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the SEVENTH Fleet Band.

MUCS Lebrón is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 199/Gray) and CMC/COB Course (Class 196). His personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (2 awards), Navy Achievement Medal (4 awards) and numerous unit and campaign decorations.
