ONI Raises More than $25,000 for Charity with Help from Pups

WASHINGTON —

Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) employees have now raised $25,439 for charities through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), making both monetary donations and volunteer pledges.

“As we spend the holidays with our families, I am so proud that ONI team is also thinking of others in our communities.” said Commander of ONI RADM Curt Copley. “We are showing our commitment to making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.”

The effort was boosted by a visit from local dogs Koa and Vespir to the National Maritime Intelligence Center’s charity fair on Giving Tuesday, where more than 250 ONI personnel came out to meet the pets. Koa is a Newfoundland therapy dog servicing nursing homes and assisted-living facilities in the region from Fairfax Pets on Wheels and Vespir is an American Bully and Bulldog mixed breed rescue puppy from Lucky Dog Animal Rescue. Rude Ranch Animal Rescue also attended the NMIC’s charity fair. The event directly contributed to $14,506 in monetary donations to CFC registered charities.

CFC is the world's largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign, supporting over 5,000 charities around the world and raising millions of dollars each year.
