The Hopper Global Communications Center provides information technology and services to the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), its subordinate Commands and Navy shore activities by enabling the rapid delivery of intelligence to customers via an architecture that employs new technologies and applications capable of moving intelligence in an open, mission-enabling and information-sharing environment. Hopper is one of five Centers of Excellence that are distinct commands under the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI).

 

Mission

Hopper provides communications for special compartmented information (SCI) and information technology for Navy shore activities. Hopper installs, sustains, and maintains equipment, including workstations, peripherals, routers, and switches as well as oversees and manages the cybersecurity posture of the network.

To be the premier SCI service provider and deliver agile, reliable, and predictive high quality computing and networking tools and services. To consistently enable the efficient flow of critical information and intelligence between the analytic workforce and the end user.

 

Functions, Roles & Responsibilities

Hopper delivers world-class information technology services that disseminate intelligence rapidly to strategic, operational, and tactical decision-makers to meet Navy, DoD, and national requirements.  Our dedicated team of civilian, military, and contractors provides robust and secure SCI communications and information technology services to Naval intelligence shore activities worldwide. 

 

Key functions include: 

  • Installs, maintains, and sustains workstations, routers, switches, and peripherals
  • Enables afloat connectivity for partner nations through coalition intelligence sharing systems
  • Serves as the Navy’s 24/7 worldwide gateway for all Fleet SCI record message traffic, providing efficient and responsive multi-domain tailored messaging support. 
  • Oversees and manages the cybersecurity posture of the JWICS network to support a global infrastructure that links naval and joint intelligence with our distributed naval warfighting forces.
